the word of God

The Word of God

John chapter 1 verse 1 says that Word was God. Before diving deep, let’s realise the fact that the ‘word’ is God Himself. The last book in the Bible, Revelation states that His name is called ‘The Word of God’. Bible is the most powerful weapon that God has given His children. The verses speaks life to the dead, heals the sick, the broken hearted and fills the mind with peace that passes all understanding.

The various books in the Bible though written by various authors are connected to each other, as they were written by the inspiration of God. (II Timothy 3:16 ‘ All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteous ). Hebrews says that it is a ‘double edged word’. It states that it is powerful enough to pierce through the bone marrow. Psalm says that the word is sweater that honey. It can quench the thirst and fill the hunger. When going through darkness, the word serves as a lamp to the feet and a light to the path. It moves away all the darkness that fills up in human mind, like jealousy, hatred, anger etc. When the word enters into the mind, then all these will have no place to rest. It gives understanding to the simple. It helps  to sustain the spiritual man, by giving the needed nutrients. Matthew 4:4 ‘Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Mark 13:31 ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’ Let everything be moved away, but the word remains eternal, immovable and unchangeable. Isaiah40:8 ‘The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.’ The word is settled forever in heaven. Hence it is worthy to be trustworthy.

As a conclusion, John15:7 says that if the words remain in us, we shall ask Jesus what we need and it will be done for us. Jesus tells that those who hear the word and do it are His mother and brothers. So let the words remain in us and bear fruits.
