1 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me , “ My grace is sufficient for you , for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
A verse when clearly understood can bring out every doubt and insecurity in us; help us have the faith that pleases god. First part of the verse says, by His grace we are made sufficient. Second part say, by his power we are made strong enough. Then what else do we need to have a smooth living and satisfied life. ‘Where there is light, darkness fades away.’ In the same way , where there is faith , doubt along with anxiety fades away .
What is God’s grace?
Many take ‘Grace’ for granted in their Christian life, taking Romans 5:20 (Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more) as our key verse regarding God’s grace.
Grace is receiving something that’s beyond our capability or what we deserve. In Hebrew and Greek the word grace means favor. We were never meant to have the things we enjoy this moment, still we have it. That is by God’s grace. In our insufficiency, we stay back to seek our gracious Father because we lack the knowledge of His wonderful grace. By His grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:8). Not only salvation, His grace satisfies every single thing we need in our life.
Who receives God’s grace?
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6). Our hardships followed by our achievements make us boast on our possessions and abilities. Thereafter we start losing God’s grace. It is the humble who receives God’s grace in abundance.
Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”. Even when you are enjoying an extravagant life, remember your gracious Father and humbling yourself before His presence, because He is the provider of everything; notwithstanding our efforts we put up altogether, toiling day and night to have our fate pretty well destined.
Problems each one are facing right now may not be the same, but our God the father speaks to us this very moment, ‘MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU.’
Moving further let’s look forward
…….. my power is made perfect in weakness.”
God’s power can never be understood completely under human limitations. So great our Father is! Only by His word this earth took it’s form and still sustains under His control. How great and mighty is God’s power which He has promised to us in our weakness! Paul has experienced this great power when he had an encounter with it and that transformed his life completely. The whole bible speaks about the greatness and mightiness of our God’s power. How almighty our God is!
God always has His perfect timing for things to happen for our good. When we are in terrible need, we are satisfied by God’s grace. When we are weak in body, heart, mind; God’s power strengthens us. Delay doesn’t mean ignorance to our prayers. Trust Him, He keeps the promises He gave us.
May God bless you.
