When was the last time you restrained yourself from crying like a helpless baby over a petty issue?
There are many situations that occur in our daily life that eventually lead us to a low state of mind. What we often forget to realise is that all coins have two sides. So when you are low look at the positive side of it and realise that nothing happens in our life outside God’s plan. Remember that life is a bed of roses with thorns.
Let us have a Biblical look as to why we should be happy even when the world comes crashing down on us. Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:4, ‘Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I say, rejoice!’ We have to understand that Paul wrote this when he was in prison. How could he write such a statement? It is because he counted upon God and hence was able to declare this statement and encourage readers like us. It is quite natural that we cannot be happy always, yet a clear understanding of Jesus’ love will help us override the situation. When we consider the Lord as our best friend it becomes even easier because He is ready to listen to all our problems and worries and then encourage us with the peace which is beyond our understanding.
John 16:33 says ‘In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world‘. It means that since Christ has overcome the world with all its problems, we have to relax and maintain our cool. Understand that you are not alone in your journey but Jesus is beside you. He helps you to come out of the problems gloriously just like how gold comes shining ever bright out of the furnace. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice. Shout for the moment of joy that is coming your way, just like how a woman forgets her labour pain in the joy that she has brought forth her offspring. There is also a blessed assurance from the Lord. He says that He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Imagine the creator of the world, wiping away your tears!
So dear friends, next time you are low, reach out to Jesus and experience boundless joy and happiness in your life.
